Wrexham's Frank Jones was carried off injured after 70 minutes with the score at 1-1. Charlie MacCartney scored a hat-trick with Wrexham playing with 10 men.

Cannock Town's resignation from the Brimingham & District League was accepted at a board meeting held on Thursday 28th January 1937. During the meeting (held at the Crown Hotel, Corporation Street, Birmingham) Mr H. Cliff, representing Cannock, stated that was impossible for the team to carry on given the lack of support. The receipts of their last two matches had been less than £5.
