With midfielder Arfon Griffiths taking his first tentative steps back from injury, it took a stunning 35-yard strike from the experienced Steve Ingle to earn a young Wrexham side a deserved point under the lights at Edgeley Park.
The visitors had the edge in an entertaining game and only some fine goalkeeping by Alan Ogley denied trialist Tony Aherne giving Wrexham an interval lead. County’s Jim Collier broke the deadlock midway through the second period before Ingle’s memorable equaliser left Ogley well beaten.
