Match Report
Ted Regan broke his collarbone in a collision with Jock Archibald, the Grimsby goalkeeper, when netting Wrexham's equaliser. There were angry scenes as the home crowd tried to confront Archibald but the police and stewards managed to restore order. Several spectators waited for Archibald after the final whistle and he had to be smuggled away from the ground in a taxi. The ugly crowd confronted Grimsby's Joe Cooper in error demanding to see his hands as Archibald had one thumb missing; he was duly let through when they saw he had two thumbs!
The game was watched by Mr. McKenna, the president of the Football League.
