Biography
The younger brother of former Wrexham and Wales centre-half Jos (J.T.) Jones, Percy scored on his first-team debut for the Greens in a 2-1 home win over Coventry City Reserves in November 1919. An amateur player throughout his career, the striker also had spells with Rhosymedre and Acrefair Trinity Institute before returning to the Racecourse in January 1923 .
With the Selection Committee struggling to find the right balance in the Wrexham forward line, a four-goal haul in a Welsh Amateur Trial match at Oswestry saw him duly recruited. Jones was thrust straight into the starting line-up at Southport but couldn't prevent the side from slipping to a 0-1 defeat.
Having struggled to bridge the gap to League Football, he joined Acrefair United some three months later.
