Biography
Trained with the reserves in October 1988 whilst recovering from a hernia operation. Manager Dixie McNeil was keen to sign him but couldn't finalise the contract until a new club chairman was appointed. Eventually, on February 9th, Dixie was informed that there was no money available to complete the transfer.
Wrexham had also tried to sign Robbie at the end of the 1984/85 season but his then club Carlisle United backed out of the deal at the last minute after late interest from Doncaster Rovers.
