Two days after the abandonment at Blackpool the reserves didn’t even manage to kick-off their scheduled Pontin’s Holidays League game against Accrington Stanley at Globe Way, Buckley. The pitch was saturated following all the rain the week before and then came even more downpours over the weekend.

Although officials from Buckley Town continued working on the pitch the morning of the game, one goalmouth was still under water and one side of the pitch was also heavily sodden. Premiership referee Mike Jones was called in to give his expert decision and shortly after lunchtime he made the inevitable decision to postpone the match.
