Match Report

Colts' player-coach Ray Wilkins donned the goalkeeper's jersey from the start for this Welsh League (North) match helping his team to a fine 5-2 win at Farra Road.

Wrexham included a number of Cheshire League players in their starting line-up, primarily in the front five, and it was one of these, David Jones, who opened the scoring on 23 minutes. Bernard Evans returned from National Service to add another after the interval.

Bangor also finished the game with the game with a centre-forward in goal, goalkeeper John Cowell being forced off with concussion midway through the second-half. This seemed to galvanise the home side who levelled matters through Coppack and Pierce. David Jones hit the winner for Wrexham ten minutes from the end.
