Match Report
The Colts slumped to a heavy defeat at the Oval but the margin of victory flattered the home side. The lively Wrexham forward line frequently had the Caernarfon defence in trouble but lacked composure in front of goal.
Danny Jones put through his own goal to give the Canaries the lead on eight minutes before a Harold Marsden free-kick and an Alan Jones effort made it 3-0 at the interval.
Player-coach Ray Wilkins reduced the arrears on 70 minutes before further goals from Alan Jones and Selwyn Jones completed the scoring, the latter coming with virtually the last kick of the match.
