Defences were on top throughout a scrappy game at the Racecourse but to took a brilliant save from Nomads' keeper Moore to deny Gareth Salisbury a late winner for Wrexham.
The visitors had the the better of the opening exchanges and took the lead through Hayes, his low drive somehow eluding the dive of Charlie Hughes in the Wrexham goal.
Despite this setback, the Colts responded well and equalised before half-time when Peter Hencher converted a penalty after Ron Roberts had been brought down inside the box by his namesake, S. Roberts.
