Mold Alexandra, who had been due to travel to Rhyl for a Welsh League match on this date, cancelled their visit. Rhyl had 1,000 stand tickets to sell for their FA Cup 4th Round tie at Bristol City and this game was arranged to help with the sales process. Mr H.S. Foulkes of Rhyl was quoted in the Liverpool Echo "They will definitely be on sale on Saturday and a match has been arranged with Wrexham. Mr Clifford Lloyd, the Wrexham manager, has agreed to send his B team, who are also without a game, to save the club from having a blank Saturday."
